Time is a weird thing. When we're kids, it seems like an age before school gives way to summer vacation, and as an adult, whole years pass by in a heartbeat. Doing a plank for thirty seconds is experienced as endless torture by anyone who is moderately unfit, yet sitting in front of a screen for hours is all too easy.

For all that the experience of time is weird, one thing we can always guarantee is that memes will always make it go by quickly. They are too varied and addictive to seem like a drag. Even better, they're a great solution when we're experiencing something that feels like it takes too long.

Whether you need to stop counting down the minutes to your lunch break or the laundry seems to be taking forever, memes are here to make the time fly by. It's almost like magic, but it's more likely the way that we're wired.
